Toxic Free Shampoo

Before using Toxic Free Shampoo

I would buy shampoo in Health Food Stores in an effort to get Toxic free shampoo. I would spend the extra money to get, what I thought was, a good shampoo. The advertisement was telling me the shampoo I bought was really good for fine and chemical treated hair. However, the condition of my hair was telling me a different story.

Split ends, dry hair and loosing hair.

The condition of my hair...

My hair is very fine and straight. I would have to wash my hair several times a day if I needed it to look clean. The drain would always have to be cleaned after each wash as I was losing lots of hair. The hairbrush was full of hair after brushing it one time. My hair would also brake easily and after a haircut, I would quickly develop split ends. In addition to the split ends, my hair would often look like dried straw. When I put the hair up it looked like a haystack on my head. My pillow would also be cover with hair when I woke up. To this day it is still amazing to me that I had any hair on my head.

My search for toxic free shampoo

After I learned about the toxic chemicals that are often used in shampoo, my search started. I went to EWG.ORG/SKINDEEP and did some research. I bought many different brands. Some worked better than others, but they all fell short. Some had no lather at all, some made the hair felt greasy and left the hair feeling really dry. Why was this so difficult…

More research and trying shampoos

In January of 2012 I felt I needed to take a more active action. I did a lot of research on the web. I found an organization called the TOXIC FREE FOUNDATION. On their website they had listed 6 companies that sold toxic free products. Some of the companies had a very limited assortment of skincare products and some had a mix of products. Only one company had personal care, cleaning and nutrition products all under the same roof. I decided to give this company shampoo a try. Their headquarters was in Phoenix, so I went there to check out the company in person. After talking to the president of the company, I decided to give their shampoo a try.

From 2012 till today

I started using in February of 2012 and I have not bought another shampoo since. When I first tried it, I was not sure I liked it. My hair was greasy, however not as greasy as with some other shampoos. It had a nice lather. After about 2 weeks, my hair was not greasy at all. It was actually looking shiny and healthy. It was also when I started noticing other changes. I didn’t have to clean the drain every time I washed my hair. The hairbrush wasn’t filled with hair after one time of brushing it. My pillow had little to no hair on it.

In Conslusion

I have now used this shampoo for since 2012 (about 11 years now) and I am still very happy with the way my hairs feels and smells. It took about 2 weeks for my scalp to acclimate to not being stripped of natural oils. Once my scalp was acclimated the hair was no longer greasy and dirty looking. I hardly ever have split ends between my haircuts. The shampoo smells really good and it has a rich lather. I have found a Toxic Free shampoo and works perfect for me… If you want to try it and enjoy a great Toxic Free shampoo, click here
